Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation

Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) aims to improve the cardiovascular health of individuals and communities through innovative research and education with the end goal of creating a world without cardiovascular disease. They have served patients and conducted research to further medical advancement for 45 years. Their innovate research has lead to breakthroughs in patient care and outcomes. MHIF continuously hosts conferences with medical professionals to share findings to reduce the burden patients with cardiovascular conditions experience.

We worked closely with the Minneapolis Heart Foundation Institute team to iteratively improve an old website through continuous heat tracking and analytics monitoring, until a grander re-envisioning became necessary. The redesign helped the MHIF team pivot from a scattered site geared toward medical professionals to an accessible site, organized by their deep subject matter expertise with patient interests as the main focus. We wanted patients to come to the site and feel hopeful that doctors at MHIF are progressing towards more and better healthcare outcomes for a wide variety of broad and niche cardiovascular conditions. 

Patients can now explore the work conducted by MHIF specific to their own conditions, as well as discover clinical trials to participate in. MHIF's website serves to disseminate their findings to ultimately improve the care patients receive, with direct communications to patients and educational resources for medical professionals. We continue improving the site with updates informed by site metrics and heat tracking to best suit MHIF’s users.
