Minnesota Standards Family Guides

The Minnesota Standards Family Guides are a resource to help families understand grade-level expectations in order to support their childs’ learning. The guides are designed to communicate expectations set forth in the Minnesota Department of Education Academic Standards so that parents can see their student's progress compared to the state standard. This allows parents to ask teachers questions and hold them accountable for teaching their students the skills they need to know to tackle the next grade and beyond.

Knowing what a child should know and learn at each age is complicated stuff. And parents don't often have the knowledge or skill to understand what the expectations are.

The family guides take these rather dense standards and make them accessible to parents. We designed this WordPress website, so that parents could quickly and easily dive in to the age and subject matter that interests them. And at any point, users can easily switch to a different age and subject matter.

The entire site is multilingual—available in both English and Spanish to be accessible to a wider audience.
